    R.I.P. Katherine Johnson (NASA mathematician)

She did the calculations that synced the Lunar Lander with the Command and Service Module, and a lot more:

But go and watch the movie. Those ladies deserve it.

We have hidden figures recorded waiting to be watched. How incredible to have been involved in such a project, what a life to live.

There's a fair bit about her on the recent season of BBC podcasts 13 Minutes to the Moon.

PS I went to their website to get the link and notice that there is to be a second season starting March 9th covering The Apollo 13 Story. Excellent news.

Mary Jackson posthumously honoured by NASA

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-53177623

Nasa is to name its headquarters in Washington DC after its first black female engineer, Mary Jackson.
Nasa administrator Jim Bridenstine said Jackson had helped to break down barriers for African Americans and women in engineering and technology. The story of Mary Jackson was told in the 2016 film Hidden Figures. Born in Hampton, Virginia, she died in 2005.
