    Number Plate Valuation

So how do I work out the value of one of my private plates?
Has an enquiry today to say someone is interested, but as all plates are unique, how do you price it?
    WOB11Y ??

If I was buying £1500, if I was selling £2500. Best guess.

Get a valuation from one of the big retailers like newreg or elite then divide by 3 for a realistic private sale.

Did you buy it from DVLA in Nov 2012?

Yes, I think it was around that time, very exciting online auction, where you get a bit carried away!

You won't make a loss, but I don't see much of a profit either. Happy to be wrong though, you just need the particular buyer

That would assume you know what I paid for it at auction 8 years ago, but yes I understand the sentiment.

The selling sites overvalue the plate in order to entice you to accept the offer. I wouldn’t get over excited when you get big money quotes thrown at you.

Oooh, that's clever, didn't know you could you find info on that, I thought I had paid £900 for it, but that may have been including fees and stuff

Sounds about right after VAT and fees and VAT on the fees.

Here’s where you find results of previous auctions

Had the enquiry, said I was willing to sell, not heard for 24 hours.
I think I have to prove Ii still own it by confirming the details on the retention cert.
