Happy Saturday everyone,
This watch really interests me and I’d love to have one. Can someone talk me out of this desire or failing that, anyone looking to sell one?!
I have one- lovely watch, but expensive now. The dial has a different finish to the normal Pro in addition to the obvious chequers.
I think there was a chap who managed to source the dial and have it fitted to a regular speedie, if money is a concern.
Initially I wasnt a fan but it's really grown on me.
It is superb watch, but for the prices they go for now I would rather take ST1...
Great watch anyway!
I can’t see what the fuss is about to be honest. Sure it looks good but I would never pay the premium over a normal Speedy...it’s not as if it’s a double red Rolex, just yet another one of the hundred Omega speedmaster “limited” editions that exist.
Pop over to here to see some lovely speedmasters old and new including some Tin Tins every now and then

Steve
It’s not an issued Limited Edition though, and that’s the point.
It is just a model that ended up being produced in very small numbers due to the deal with the owners of the Tin Tin copyright falling through.
This makes it an oddity, and therefore of interest to Collectors.

I think it's a great looking watch. It would be my choice for a speedie if the premium wasn't so high.
Enjoying mine today :)
I would name it Speedmaster racing "failed mission" instead of "Tintin"
The Tin Tin is the only Speedie I've seen that I would really want.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
It is a lovely looking watch with low production numbers between 1000-2000.
It will always be sought after and fetch a premium.
I am not the biggest fan of the speedmaster (kinda like ST1, SP2, snoopy and gsotm) but I think the tintin is visually dreadful!
The Tintin is my wife’s daily wear ...
... and I do think it suits her very well. It was her own choice to buy it (a Gemini IV was the other possible choice for her back then). No regrets whatsoever ;)

I always think of the Beautiful South song, Rotterdam, when I see these watches.
"Battle khaki personalities with red underwear"
To me it seems an unnecessary and rather gaudy embellishment of a stylish watch.
Just my view, of course, obviously plenty love them.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
I think they weren’t very popular for a brief period when they initially came out?
I remember seeing them discounted in Japan

Was tempted at the time, but already had a regular speed master, so didn’t bite.
From memory there was 10% sales tax, plus a 10% discount for using your foreign credit card (?), adding back on vat reentering the eu would have come to about €3k...
