I am thinking of booking race-day some tickets for the GP in Catalunya but have never been to F1 before.
Me and my son are thinking of making it a road trip (may even buy a banger for the trip) and staying nearby the night before. Can anyone advise on how to go about it, where to watch the race, things to look out for? Standard tickets seem to be around 100 Euros and upwards for grandstand seats but I think we will keep it simple.

I'd consider perhaps another venue for a race. I went to Barcelona last year and it's a pretty boring track.
You'd be better off at Silverstone in Village B stand
