Thread: What was my 80s citizen?

  1. #1

    What was my 80s citizen?

Iím trying to recall some of my boyhood watches and drawing a blank on a particularly brash citizen model. It looked a bit like the pro master:

(same style gold bezel and strap) and had lots of spurious dive info printed in white on the lower band (maybe ATM/M conversions). Would have been about £30 from Argos, probably mid eighties????

    Thanks for any assistance!

    Citizen DO60 Windsurfing.
There were a few variants, Google the code and go to images.

( the code is on the watch face)

But didn't he just say " it looked a bit like "

He didn't say this was the watch.

Or am I wrong, its confusing lol

No, you are right, I thought that that code would get the other similar models in the range up on a Google search, having looked myself itís not that simple, there are definitely several models very similar, there was a guy on here that collected the range but canít think of who it was offhand.
    Cheers..

Thanks so far. Yep, the image above is just the closest I can find on google so far. The bezel and strap look about right. Dial config isnít right (ďIíll know it when I see itĒ), and I do reckon it had 5 or six rows of white printed dive info (or some such) on the lower band.

    🤞

The strap with deco times was quite common for dive watches of the era.

Many thanks. Thatís not quite it either. Given that it was a schoolboy purchase, Iím fairly sure it will have been from somewhere like Argos (or, come to think of it, Ratners) and about £30... so I wonder did they do a more basic version of some of those watches? 🤔

I still have one of those watches in the top picture

It was the watch I wore through school
It originally had a rubber strap with a Knot / MPH conversion scale on it if I remember correctly.
