    Can anyone point out to me how to use the ignore function.

    Or, if you are on a real computer: Click on the user's name (e.g. on one of their posts). Select View Profile from the context menu[*]. On the left hand side, you should see Add To Ignore List.

    There are a number of ways of getting to this screen - this is just one suggestion.
