Had the previous version. Super cool looking and bigger than SS model but as with every IWC I've had there were issues with it that needed warranty work and IWC are painful to deal with. As such I'll avoid any IWC with an in house movement in future and buy pre owned with a 7750 inside so an indy can sort and I dont have to deal with IWC any more.

Btw the modern 3 hander version of this looks crap in pics but stunning in the metal

Big fan of the look and cool emblem on back. I found it a little large for me (mainly due to case thickness).

If I could pull it off I think I would have bought one a few years back

Also imagine it’ll get a bit of resurgence in popularity once the new top gun film comes out later and the nostalgia brigade pile in

Opinions sought .. IWC Top Gun

I bought one a couple of weeks ago.

Now it doesn’t have the “Top Gun” on the case, a silly plane shaped second hand and the colourful case back I think it’s a nice looking watch. Don’t quite understand the need for the Top Gun affiliation as it does nothing for me.

Always wanted a ceramic, love the Pilot Chronograph, strap is super comfy and the price was right.

Edit: I am having the strap replaced due to wear on the keepers.

Top watch. Never had any problems with an IWC, in house or otherwise.
The only one with a little issue is an older Aquatimer which has an ETA movement which IWC tends to breathe heavily on and needs proper winding to keep going. I guess it can be fixed but have never bothered.

My best mate has one and despite newer Rolex and Pateks, it's still his favourite watch. Nice bit of kit, I think he mentioned there are a few different versions and limited editions. His is apparently the actual watch they give out to qualified pilots which isn't always the case with them.

Not a fan of IWC but would have one of these in the collection - I'd think the 7750 version would be the one I'd go with though.
