This SBBN037 "Bluna" just arrived and it's just lovely. The dial and bezel insert look black at times then change depending of light or angle you look at it. The new updated version of this watch looks great also with the oversized minute hand and sapphire crystal but I love the hands on this model plus the Marinemaster text and fantastic lume.

    Cheers

    Thanks very much Neil
I was actually looking to buy the Sinn UX. I tried an all black GSG9 on and it didn't really do it for me.
I tried this one and the all black S23631J1 and chose this.
My first tuna and couldn't be any more pleased.

Picked up as a neglected project watch needing some parts - I love it
It arrived with some marks on the dial and damaged chapter ring (was a pig to find)
    And an AM bezel insert

Very nice Rob, great catch! We’re you in Sellors trying these on? Did they have a 300m quartz Tuna by chance? The 1000m is a little out of my price range :-)

Have you tried one on? I can almost guarantee that you will be amazed.

No other "large" watch wears smaller. A far better indication of how it wears than the headline 48mm diameter is the lug-to-lug that, at around 42-43mm, is less than that of a 36mm Datejust! The cut-aways on the shroud significantly help lessen the visual impact of the case so it dominates the wrist far less than you'd expect. The wide, flat base of the shroud, together with the lower centre of gravity it gives means the watch is the most stable on the wrist of any I've owned and, consequently, one of the most comfortable. I have a 6.75in wrist and was as much a cynic as any so can't recommend enough the need to try one on first before judging.

I’ve been told this before TBH and need to try one on

It’s not actually a great pic
It’s a cheapy I bought for eBay from China - literally about £8 I think but really solid
    This is a bit better

Cheers. I’m looking for something oyster style but actually not super solid as I like rattly old bracelets. Every bracelet I’ve tried seems over engineered and weighs a tonne and doesn’t suit the vintage feel of the rest of the watch.

Have you tried an Uncle Seiko oyster? They aren’t as heavy as a Strapcode and have a more vintage feel about them. There’s a 10% code if you need it.

    Hello Liam,
Yes, I tried it on in Sellors.
I do think they had the 300m version but can't be 100% sure.
The S23631J1 all black 1000m version looks fantastic too and I would've ben as equally happy with that.
Call Gavin on 01132 340538, he seems a knowledgeable bloke and certainly knows about the Sinn.

Hi, thanks for the recommendation but yes, I have tried the US Oyster. I felt that it was just too heavy duty and overpowered the watch head. I think what bothers me about the majority of this style of bracelet is the clasp. They are super thick and heavy and not in keeping with the vintage feel of the watch.

    Thanks

They’re quite hard to find new in the UK.

If one needs just two watches, one for 'good' and a daily wearer, is there anything better for the daily than a Tuna? I don't think so.

As a casual ‘Grab and Go’ they are hard to beat. As a Holliday watch they are the best in my opinion
