Surprised with the title let’s see some Tuna, not any Steeldive or similar have shown themselves?

Some frozen Tuna - taken for the Snow thread...

I sold my 007 some years ago, but this has easily quenched my thirst for another!

Perfect combo. I have the sbbn007 but I cant track the 015 bracelet. The best tuna bracelet IMO

Love a Tuna!
(But the Steeldive is (dare I say) the better of the 4... Sorry Seiko!

I don't think you'll regret it.
Took me a while to order one too.
It was mainly the branding that was holding me back, i just didn't like the Steeldive brand name or logo.
I initially planned of getting the dial swapped out for a sterile dial, but when the watch arrived, it just blew me away.
This brand needs to be recognised.. Obviously not for copying designs from many big watch companies, but for there ability to knock out a quality watch at low cost.
I certainly know what watch I'll be wearing to the beach this summer:

I concur with everything Senraw has said about the SD Tuna, there's nothing to dislike, even has a ceramic bezel.
I’m tottering on the edge. The logo when you see it as
Face mask (divers) not Corona.
Air tanks
Flippers
I think it’s cool.
Not sure whether I want the steel & blue dial
or
Black pvd and a black pvd bracelet

I feel like a poor relation here and I absolutely love the proper Tuna’s but I can only offer up my JDM Digital Tuna, I still love it. I set out to buy a G Shock as a daily beater and then saw this, I am so pleased to have bought this instead.

Thanks for this. I’m feeling pretty tempted by one of these Too. Really interesting to hear your very high opinions as, like you, I already have a 1000M and 300M quartz Seiko Tunas, so the SD would be joining a pretty similar collection. Can I ask how the SD lume compares to the Seikos?

Probably my favourite watches and a few have passed through my hands over the years.
I'm left with three just now, a 031, the blue version which is quite stunning when the light catches the bezel and dial and the PADI version which is limited to 700 pieces IIRC.
Seem to be ridiculously accurate...I hadn't touched the PADI version for over a year, it sat in its box and I was amazed to see it was just 7 seconds out.
Not overly fond of rubber straps so there is a selection of Strapcode bracelets I use that suit the Tuna's perfectly.
Anyway, a few pictures

Nice bunch
Strpcode hexad or regular oyster?
When you want to see the mask, bottles, flippers.
You’ll not Un see them.
If you want to see a cartoon that’s all you’d see ??

Rather liking Steeldives at the moment - this is my second.
Excuse my ignorance but do 'Monsters' qualify as part of the 'Tuna' family or are they a separate branch of the family tree?
I also concour with every said about this watch the Sd1978,ok I know its a copy /Homage of the Famous one ,
But all that aside this is an awesome quality time piece.
As already said the brand needs more recognition.
The lumed bezel is fantastic.
I had the 55th anniversary Sla041 which is sent back as not impressed with it for 4k .
This is flicking my switch more than the Seiko (Also sorry Seiko)
I was on the fence and Karl talked me into it .
So here it is ,and with my Pam 285 for Size comparison, which is huge by the way
Wide, heavy and I love it .

Evening all,
I'm thinking of going for the Tuna S23629J1 & I'd appreciate some advice;
All the photos I've seen make it look very big, all the reviews I've read say it's not as big as the paper dimensions would suggest.
In the real world, what's it like? For context I'm tall with a 7.75" wrist & I'm used to big watches (Gshock & a James Cameron are the biggest) so I can carry off a big watch within reason.
Additionally I've seen photos of Tunas with the day displayed in Japanese kanji. I know Seiko day wheels are usually in English & A. N. Other language but the kanji are a very neat touch.
Many thanks for any advice,
You'll be fine with that size wrist/what you are wearing at the minute. My wrists are around 6.75 and I wear the 300m tunas no probs, fit well and comfortable.
As for the kanji day wheel, I asked the question in one of the new tuna threads, I believe the S23629J1(ie. Uk) won't be kanji. The sbbn jdm version i assume will have a kanji day wheel so maybe look to source one of those if its a deal breaker.
I've also been looking at that model, and goldsmiths have 15% off with voucher cloud at the moment so could be worth a look.
I had an SBBN007, which I think is very slightly smaller than the S23629 on paper, and it wore fine on my wrist which is like a tooth pick! So I'm sure you'd be OK for size.

Thanks for the replies & the 15% tip, I'll have a look at that.
For 1250£ I would rather go with 1000m with sword hands. I have the sbbn025 and it is a top notch and one of my favourites (also sapphire). I personally think hands style on new tuna is not good, just to big (reminds me of Citizen's diver models from 90's which worked on Citizen but not on a tuna imo)

My S23629 - the hands are big, as are the plots. Legibility is amazing - the lume leaves my Sumos and SKX way behind
