Why would they put a stainless steel plaque on the side of a gold case, doesn't make any sense?

My first automatic watch was a Omega 2220.8000.
I love these watches, all the quality and coaxial movement for less that 2k.
Today, passing in front an Omega boutique, I have seen a briefcase, two bond watches, two nato and ONE stainless steel bracelet (why including two!!??) for only euro 39k (!!??).
I guess Omega thinks their clients are stupid.
Two special edition watches in a briefcase for 39k?
A pristine example goes for more or less 4K... why anybody should pay 10 times that price?

Probably after the same target market that spends 10x what they ought to be spending on steel Rolex sports watches :-)
The watch industry in general seems to be losing the plot regarding their (exhorbitant) pricing strategy ... even Seiko are getting in on the act ...
Yea but most people would say the same about someone buying any mechanical watch in 2020.
They would say they are outdated, inaccurate and childish
Aren't there only two types of watch buyers. Those who spend more that you do, who are obviously undiscriminating idiots and those who spend less who are clearly tasteless philistines.
Omega is acting strange. Check new speedy with 321 movement. Crazy priced
I have the stainless steel one and at £5220 with the bracelet and rubber it’s well priced. Especially when you look at the quality and beauty of the thing compared to some equally priced rivals. (Oh, and mine will be for sale very soon!)

I thought the stainless version was awful when it was released. it ruined a handsome watch.
I hate the dial, really hate the fake coat of arms, really really hate the cliched 7s but the the gold one takes tasteless watches to another level IMHO.
Imagine the conversation with a normal person.
“Oh my watch yeah, it’s a limited edition gold version of James Bond’s watch... yeah James Bond, you know, him off the Christmas telly
Yeah well this a version of his watch that he never actually wore”
I guess I am on the fence. :)
Really don’t like the LEs that Omega put out, especially the Bond iterations.
I think they cheapen the brand but I guess somebody buys them as they wouldn’t bother otherwise.
These are particularly crass imo.
The standard Seamaster is a lovely watch as it is and this has just spoiled it for me.
