Seiko Turtle - unable to hand wind?

I picked up a new Seiko Turtle last week and noticed today after the power reserve had run down (having not been worn over the weekend) that the hand wind function does not work.
When trying to wind the crown it spins freely and silently with no resistance.
All other functions are spot on and the time keeping is very good.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

No I haven't experiencedthat, and it's not right. There isn't a great deal of feel or resistance when handwinding, but it definitely should be there. Get a refund or a return to Seiko UK is in order methinks.

I had the opposite with my SKX, I couldn’t wind it freely without fear of breaking it. I’d bought new from Creation and luckily I got a refund, only had to send it back to Salford too. That was my last Seiko, I’m tired of their lack of QC. Shame really because they do nice divers. My advice is to send it back if you bought new.

I’ve organised an exchange. Pity as it was spot on otherwise.
