'Sports' Rolex availability - from the horse's mouth ... well, the groom's, anyway

Went with the wife to collect a piece of jewellery from a Rolex AD today, where I've been a customer for more than 20 years, including buying my own Y-M. Asked the watch specialist why 'sports' Rolex availability was so bad. His reply was to the point: 'I can't get you a steel GMT or a steel Daytona. Anything else, tell me what you want.'

After we left, realised what I should have asked next: 'So why are steel GMTs & Daytonas so difficult, then?' Duh.

While the AD said he couldn’t/wouldn’t be able to obtain models, the door seems open to others. Have you got a specific reference in mind?

    SD43 shouldn’t be too awful
Even grey the premium isn’t huge.
