    Apostrophes etc on Tapatalk

Not a big issue, but anyone else noticed that apostrophes don’t appear in posts made on Tapatalk?

I can’t see ones in don’t and can’t which I did type properly!

Yes, in both Safari on iPad, and in iCab mobile browser on iPhone 7+. Does your Tapatalk app have an update pending?

Interesting, I can see my posts properly on Chrome (PC and web view on iPhone), just not on Tapatalk on iPhone.

No updates pending and I rebooted phone, logged out of Tapatalk, still the same. Strange it 'knows' my posts.

    Apostrophes etc on Tapatalk

I had this problem last week with Tapatalk. I tried to edit a post thinking I’d forgotten them and they still didn’t appear. When I looked at the post in Chrome I had double apostrophes! Seemed like Tapatalk just wasn’t displaying them.

Seems to be ok now thought.

Edit: Just looked and they’ve gone again from this post

I’ve seen various issues with punctuation when viewing the forum with Tapatalk recently. Almost like when you see “& amp” in badly formatted HTML.

    I can’t post them.

Think problem is iPhone using ascii character 146 (forward sloping apostrophe) instead of 39 (vertical apostrophe).

OK. I’ve tried a couple of combinations.

If I create a post in Tapatalk (iOS) with an apostrophe it is created and can subsequently be viewed correctly: using Chrome on iOS (iPhone and iPad); using Chrome on a windows PC.

It is not displayed when viewed using Tapatalk either on the device that created the post or another.

If I create a post using Chrome on a windows PC the apostrophe is displayed correctly wherever I view it: iPhone/iPad/windows PC with any combination of Tapatalk or Chrome.

In my view this is a Tapatalk problem with the codepage(s) they are using. It’s using a valid encoding for an apostrophe that is supported in Chrome but which in turn it cannot display itself. Possibly it is using separate code pages for creating and displaying?

This post has been created using Safari on an iPad just to further check my hypothesis.

    Apostrophes etc on Tapatalk

Had exactly this last week on my iPhone via Tapatalk.

    Can’t/don’t.....test

Still will not add the apostrophes for me clearly! Double checked that I typed them correctly via predictive text. Here is a couple of manual attempts:

    Can’t.....won’t

    Nope....still no apostrophes....

Has this been fixed? Can’t tell unless I test it here.

I use the desktop site on my mobile.

It means I have to read font size 0.00005 but at least I can punctuate the rubbish I post.

Something I have noticed in the last few days is that my phone isn't recognising as a hyperlink any threads where there are no new posts.

    Anyone had this?
