I fancy another Rolex, choices choices...

I have a hankering for another Rolex but not a sports version.
So I have my eye on two different models and they are the:

    Rolex OP 39mm Rhodium Dial.

    Rolex Datejust 36mm Blue Dial.

Both of them I really like and the sizes are fine either way.
Does anyone own one of them and if so how do they find them...

    Thanks...

Tried on the rhodium dial OP39 a few times before. Extremely hard to tell the time on. Would look at a different colour dial.

I really don’t like the new rhodium dial look. So, DJ out of those for me.
It's just a matter of time...

    OP 39mm is a stunner

    Seen it in the flesh

I was thinking about this earlier today, I’d personally go for a 39mm OP, but with a different coloured dial

Would agree with this - the Rhodium dial OP looks great in pics but in real life it's very hard to tell the time. I sold mine after a few months. Blue dial DJ is lovely though.

DJ 41 blue is quite hard to get. I'm not sure if the 36 or 41 are right for me. Probably going to wait it out for the 41 though.

DJ36 blue dial all day long. Perfect size. I have to say I'd be going jubilee and fluted for a DJ though. If you wanted an OP I'd seriously look at the 36mm 116000 with thr blue 369 dial.

I agree, but having bought a 2016 OP36 with the blue dial last year I`m distinctly underwhelmed and seriously considering selling it. I wanted one for a couple for years but over that time I think my tastes have change and I`m now firmly back into vintage Omegas with no interest in Rolex at all. They're nice, but grossly overpriced for what they are.

I`ve also owned a 36mm Datejust 116200 with a blue dial, sold ait a few years ago when prices were much lower......another one I should've kept.

Datejust 36 blue dial for me and I prefer the normal minute markers as opposed to the rail track.

I would go for a 36mm OP were it me as I think it’s a classic size for this type of watch. Then again, I’m not keen on the cyclops.

If I was going for one of those I would seriously consider the grape dial..

Id go Blue DJ but I'd go fluted and jubilee. I think its the proper configuration for a DJ.

Had the 39 OP Rhodium dial for a few years and recently moved it on. It’s a nice watch and wears well, but I just didn’t bond with it as I would of hoped. It isn’t the most legible and there is something “off” about the hour pips.

The blue dial DJ would be my choice, but as another said on Jubilee instead.

Primarily based on case size I would choose the 36mm DJ

Looking at something similar too at the moment. I was considering the black dial OP 39 as I believe it does not have the hour pips and perhaps a little easier to read. Good price too vs datejust.

I can’t speak highly enough of my 126200 36mm DJ with oyster and smooth bezel. Turns it into a slightly more casual GADA over the classic jubilee and fluted. Also a fan of the 3235 movement with longer power reserve etc.

I went silver but had a hard time deciding vs the blue. Black is also cool but seemed to wear smaller.

    I love blue OP36 - maybe this is a compromise? :-)

    Indeed!
I was literally scared of the size (it was a blind date, without any trying). I'm used to wear 45-47 mm, not the 36 mm - but the size of this beauty is just perfect, very comfortable and discreet :-)

  23. #23
I would go for the DateJust all day long. The OP39 black dial I owned was flipped as I found it wore larger than 39mm and the proportions didn't really work for that style of watch.

I have a 41 dj. Lovely watches. Great thing about them is you can have whichever size and other combinations take your fancy.

Blue dial is fantastic and the best choice imo. I went for w/g bezel which catches the light beautifully and adds a bit of luxury. I actually ended up with both oyster and jubilee bracelets and love both. Currently going through an oyster phase

I think it depends ALOT on size preference. No way I would buy a high end 36mm watch personally. 39mm is ideal size IMO

Have to be the DJ41 for me. Fluted bezel preferably. If you want to be anonymous buy a Timex!

I’d go DateJust 36 blue dial all day long

I’ve owned a couple of OP 39s, but just found them ‘ boring’. Not sure why, as beautiful well crafted watches. But had 2 and sold both.

Having tried on the DJ41 and owning an Explorer I would go blue dial DJ41. I felt the 36 was too small.

Definitely DJ 36mm - the new one with the white gold bezel is lovely.

Blue is classic but grape works for me. The classic jubilee/fluted bezel never dates.
