La Serenissima. Save Venice
I'm taking no credit for finding that, Google did all the work.
Here’s one for the masses-possibly early 80’s there was a classical track in the charts. I remember it being unusual because pretty sure it was one of the first classic “pop” tracks, before the likes of Vanessa mae etc. The video was animated and the people in it had featureless chrome faces, they appeared on top of the pops and the musicians wore them, along with powdered wigs and flouncey dresses?
Anyone remember it ?

My pleasure glad it was the right track! I do remember the video now from some late night show in the mid 80's though, I couldn't for the life of me remember what it would have been.
Well done that man, I was seriously struggling with that one. Just played the video and I do remember the song. There were quite a few 'classic pop' type tracks released around that time.

Now I think a bit more about it I remember an interview with Malcolm McLaren talking about how he got the idea for classical pop some time in the I'd 80's. The British airways advert always stuck in my mind as a clear example of that direction.

That brought back memories! Lovely haunting tune and a great video. Remember that spaceman well.
Google says it was the theme tune for Hospital Watch?
The artist was I believe Rondo Veneziano.
Link to a live version from 2010.

I remember hunting high and low for the album it came from. Think I may still have it somewhere.
