    Hello

I am new to the forum and watch collection.

I am a 40 year old tree surgeon living in Wales working in Bristol!! 3 kids and a mortgage, so watches were only ever a dream.

I have always loved watches and appreciated them, but could never afford the ones i wanted.

So anyway fast forward 15 years from falling in love with my grandads Panerai (which sadly got caught up in a family feud) and i was in a position to buy my first watch, then for my 40th another.

I love watches and the think they are mostly overlooked by the general public, or over embellished by the super rich, but I just like the feel of them on my wrist.

Anyway hope to catch up with some of you on here and look forward to the knowledge this forum has to offer.

    Thanks

    Anhtony

So what would be the best watch to wear when climbing a tree?

    I need to know.

    And welcome.
So clever my foot fell off.

Welcome. As the others have said, there are lots of watches that are much more affordable - take a look at some of the Timefactors range as an example.

What did you get? Don't be shy; most tastes are catered for :-) Don't be embarassed about sharing - this is a place where there's always someone with more money than you, and always someone with less. We all like watches though, and especially like seeing pictures of them.

Hey guys thanks for the welcome.

Um, in 2017 I purchased a 37mm Yacht Master, then in 2019 (my 40th) I purchased a no date sub.

I am really happy with both watches, one will go to a daughter and one will go to my son (the other daughter is getting a ring) I have purchased them to wear, although now looking back on it they should have been left in the loft!!!

I am looking forward to the knowledge I this forum as I am not clued up on watches, but recently after visiting many shops
there seems to be a massive array of amazing watches!!!!

I really like the Blancpain and Zeniths!!!

Sorry, trying to do this with a 2 year old screaming and a 4 year old rein-acting some of Evil Kanevals motorbike stunts on her pushbike!!!

But only if snails did have Rolex’s!!!
