I am not sure about that if I am honest, it’s not offensive but I would not swap it for my SBDX001 that’s for sure.
They will sell out very fast.
Just seen this on Instagram this morning. Looks like quite an early leak but very interesting.
Black MM300 with a new caseback limited to 600 pieces. No idea on allocation but can only imagine the UK stock will be miniscule.
I'm sure Bill already has his order in!

Is the second hand orange and the 300m writing red? Looks a bit of a mismatch. Probably better if both orange but I agree I’m not a fan of the LE over the original.
Have they removed the name Marine Master from the dial and given it the Prospex logo instead?
Looks good to me, but as you see we’ll see very few on these shores.
Like the red text - doesn’t another brand do that!!!!
Do we think that the second hand is red or orange? Red I assume.
Yes, same as the SLA021 which I'm wearing today. Pic below.
I think the seconds hand could be red as it looks the same colour in the last pic as the text on the dial. Also there is the new black Sumo coming in the same colour scheme as the SRPC49K1 so either the orange makes sense because of that or isn't needed because the Sumo is ticking that box.
New pic from Seiko just posted 10 mins ago on Instagram

Still unclear on the seconds hand.
Now appears a reddy/orange!
How can it fail to be in demand with an "official" Seiko Marketing speel like this,
"The Black Series Limited Edition
The mystical charm of the sea at night makes night diving a sought-after activity for those fascinated by the contrasting appeal from the sea at daytime. Today, a series of all-black diver's watches inspired by the dramatic and mysterious world of the nighttime ocean is born."

It looks great and will probably sell well, but how practical is that case going to be I wonder. Give me a steel case all day long.
quite a few changes to the "original" - must have been a conscious movement away by Seiko - no pip, crystal and of course the X and bezel insert and "gold" - but at least it still has drilled lugs
if you have got used to the earlier models, 001 and 017, the new "X" range probably have less "character" for some
It makes you appreciate how "nice" the 001 is

Think I will grab the Sumo and skip the MM as the MM cost is going to be obscene.
It looks good ,but very pricy ,the sumo is better value

Thanks. That's similar to what Seiko have done with the new Alpinists. They would rather market them as belonging to the Prospex range rather than cash in on a name collectors know and love. Articles on the new releases are even referring to them as 'Alpinist inspired'. It is putting a few people off.

Has anyone managed to get an order on for the SLA035?
According to wired.co.uk
Price: SSC761 is £620; SPB125 is £750; SLA035 is £2,700
Fair chunk especially when it only comes on rubber. Haven't seen any bracelet. Wonder if it will be available via Goldsmith's and you can use vouchers or discount codes. Doubt it but that could potentially tip me over the edge to buying as I wouldn't spend £2.7k as it is.
Has anyone tried the black sumo yet?
