    Rolex Oyster Army Ref 3139

Sorry for the click-bait title but this does look interesting

Quite like it but the difference in case size will make it very different in character from the watch it's based on.

I really dislike the use of the terms 'surgical stainless steel' in anything not related to surgery/prothesis. Call it 316L if you need to be specific, or stainless steel.

It looks like a homage to the Rolex Viceroy. Why don't they just say it?

It is a homage to 3139, that is the first thing they say.
    In their words:

Venturo’s Field Watch #2 is based on the elusive Rolex Oyster Army, Ref. 3139, that was issued in small numbers to the Allies during World War II, and for which production had stopped many decades ago.

Speaking as someone who would dearly like a 3139 at the right price I'm relieved that this effort is unlikely to increase the number of rival bidders.

    Or maybe a 4647 .
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

I wasn’t aware of the historical Rolex so I like the watch for what it is. I like it a lot.

Thanks for posting great looking watch. Hopefully Rolex won’t make any otherwise it will be £8k and a waiting list a mile long.

    Cheers.

The case size is far too large for this style of watch, and the lume and font are awful. IMHO.

    It's a Gruppo. 'Nuff said.

How can they possibly say it's based on the Ref. 3139? There is nothing remotely similar, except maybe the fact it ticks
