    Seadweller 126603

Hi guys, not after advise as such, as I really like the look of this watch. Hence my opinion will not change. Although to be honest it was not on my radar as a potential purchase, I’d not actually seen or held one before today. However it seemed rude not to buy it when offered one tax free. I’m am aware that when it was launched there was a lot of dislike for it. Me I love the look and also how it wears, hence the purchase. Just curious/interested to hear what people currently think about it.

Ps all Rolex haters, please feel free to ignore this thread or alternatively 8d125a9d-e527-4658-8aab-f4a0a27bd823.jpgneed not reply

I would not be disappointed in that at tax free prices, I had a 126600 and loved the size/feel and it has a great clasp.

I am picking up a 126660 JC this weekend after getting "the call"

It certainly makes a statement! I used to have the steel version so I know how these wear. Congrats on your new purchase.

It’s probably a perfect size, and at least in TT it makes a little more sense having a cyclops. I just wish the steel version had a flat crystal and that they realised a double red version
It's just a matter of time...

I have the steel mk1 version and would certainly have taken the plunge on a tax free one of these. Enjoy it in good health

It’s the best looking TT Sports reference Rolex have ever made IMO.

    A fantastic watch.

It makes so little sense, the gold on a work watch! However, sod that it looks great and I’m going to fill the hot tub in our room to the top tomorrow to test it.

Let’s be fair, the all steel one (which I own and is my all time favourite watch) makes little sense unless you’re a saturation diver!

But sense isn’t why we buy them :chuckle:

    Sounds like it!

Not condemning it out of hand, but it’s wise to keep these things quiet. If he gets a tug at Customs the watch won’t be such a bargain........but I’m sure he’s thought about that and weighed up the risk.

Let he who us without sin cast the first stone.

Something else to be aware of - if you ever need to claim on insurance, they might not pay you the UK value because that is seen as profiting (you might also be careful not to suggest you paid the UK price to avoid accusations of insurance fraud).

Okay, so you think an insurance company would not bother to ask a customer for proof of purchase (invoice or card transaction etc) in the event of a claim 🤔

Just came here for the pendants and retards who'll crawl up themselves over the tax free comment.

    Wasn't disappointed!

But you keep suggesting that those being vocal against it have done it themselves and I was wondering why?

I reviewed the SS version here:

    https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...highlight=Rori

This watch is in my opinion perfection. I’ve tried each and every SS model at my local Rolex boutique but on my flat 7.5 wrist nothing looked that amazing than the SD43.
If the SS already looks and shines like a jewel I can barely imagine how much more if a jewel the TT look is.
    Congrats.

Do you think an up to date insurance valuation has no place in working out a premium for insurance then ?

Some items I have specifically insured, the current valuations agreed with our insurance company are way in excess of the original purchase price of which I have kept proof of purchase..

Not like threads here ever go 'off topic' LOL.

For me, a bi-metallic SD in any form is the devil incarnate.

May the Rolex gods strike the fans down!.

Went in to try the 126603 a few weeks back, have too say I loved it, which was unexpected. I didnt go for it as I have the steel version and a 2 tone CHNR, but if I didn't have those I would have wanted the 126603 in a heartbeat. For me its a perfect size anyway, and its wasn't overly blingy.

Also as a hommage to the Deepsea Special from 1953 it is spot on!

    Enjoy.

    2 rules of Watchtalk:

    1. If you see mention of a counterfeit watch, make it overly clear that they are the worst thing in the world and the source of all evils on the planet. Don’t forget, counterfeit watches are the source of all funding for terrorism, drugs and sex trafficking.

    2. If you see anything hinting at tax avoidance going through customs, make sure you point it out and start a pitchfork mob about it.

And that's an issue purely between the OP and HMRC. Not a bunch of petty, holier-than-thou, jealous watch geeks!

Wonder if these characters drive down the outside lane of the motorway at 70mph coz anything more is illegal...

    Sad AF.
