    At the air gun range

With a couple of my favourite rifles, what air rifles do you shoot?

I use a HW77 on the squirrels if I need to be quiet or use them for taxidermy, a great gun to use for a springer!, otherwise it's shotguns for the vermin and game birds and the .308 for the deer.

I always fancied a HW77 in the mid 80's as a teenager Mike, never got chance to own one, I had my trusty old BSA meteor at the time, not a patch on the formentioned gun though.

My HW has just had a custom tune and has benefited greatly, also had my HW98 done while I was at it, I've fired .308 at target's, beast of a round lol.

No, I'm lucky to live around the corner from a good gunsmith, he designed and made quite alot of stuff for daystate and does repairs for some of the gun shops in the north west, his knowledge is incredible, the sort of guy you can listen to for hours.

He machines the guides himself on his lathe, for a perfect fit on the spring.

The Steyr 110 was the best rifle I've ever had and only sold when we moved away (was an indoor/outdoor range in the village).
    Would love to get another.

I have quite a few but the best looking and most rare is my Airmasters 77FTS, its from about 1986 and base gun was a Weihrauch HW77K which was a bloody good gun in its own right.

Beautiful bit of walnut and 80's chrome!

    Mostly left handed.
    Many now sold.
Couple of my target pistols in the heap.
    All .177.

Theoben Rapid 17 in .177 with either a walnut or Hyeuda stock, (can't remember which) BSA Superten in .22 with walnut stock, Theoben Taunus in .22 with Hyeuda Stock and a Falcon in .177 with a walnut stock.
I haven't done any shooting for the last three years due to having to deal with cancer.

I had a Feinwerkbau Sport . 22 in my late teens during the 80's. It was beautifully made and very accurate with a Tasco scope. My lasting regret was selling it for next to nothing when I needed the money. I remember that the WH 55's had beautifully grained stocks then. If only I had a time machine.

I don't shoot many rifles but I do shoot skeet I like the action of the clays. I have a few Brownings and one Rizzini that's not quite as popular over here as it is in the UK. Have fun with the air rifles

Used to shoot a bit of 50m rifle until the kiddies came along.

This photo is in Hannover IIRC, and the yellow dialled watch isn't ringing a bell. Seiko I think.

    Old air rifles

I hope I'm not hijacking the thread, but I used to be obsessed with air rifles when I was a teenager, and still have a couple of them that I would like to sell.

Can anyone recommend how I might sell a Feinwerkbau Sport (0.22) and a BSA Meteor? (also 0.22) I don't know if one is allowed to advertise them in the usual places (ebay, facebook Marketplace etc)

They have not been used in recent years, and I'm sure will need a service/overhaul. I remember the Feinwerkbau was very highly regarded back in the day!

    Many thanks,
    Martyn.

Freeadds, guntrader and gunstar are the most popular advertising platforms for airguns, hope this helps.

    Sell them here on SC.

I sold a Webley carbine and a BSA Scorpion on here very quickly some time back.

If you are realistic about prices they will go.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

I will be staying home today alternating some 10m paper target shooting with the S200 in the garage and watching the masters snooker.

BSA Super 10 Bull Barrel .177.

Darn nice adjustable triggers on them and very accurate.

I’ve a Daystate Mk3, which I’ve had for many years and when I bought it I went down to the factory and they let me have my choice of their walnut stocks. It’ll need a service as I haven’t used it for a few years now, but so very accurate and a beautiful looking rifle.

Before that I had the AirArms Prosport, also .177 and also walnut stocked. That was a beauty and I still regret selling it. A little more difficult to be consistent with, but also extremely accurate.
