What about the original receipt I would be very cautious!
I am thinking of buying this, it looks genuine to me but a 2nd opinion is no bad thing. He says he has the box and papers. Its a 118
Thanks

Is that text above the '12' hour marker?
Do you have any pictures of the box etc?

The movement looks correct (swan neck, gear finishing). But I'm just an amateur.
There are some very convincing fakes of the h/w Panerais with this movement. Careful.
A quick search of the number E2749 doesn't bring up anything untoward.

I can't tell from the photo but is the dial brown?
If it is, it's all good. Fake PAM118s have a black dial.
I always pay particular attention to the engraving on Panerai of that era - in particular the `clipped` lettering in certain places on the movement.
I would think that that would be particularly difficult to replicate exactly by the fakers.
For what it`s worth the engraving on yours is identical to Panerai i have owned, for example in these positions;
OP you are obviously unsure yourself if the watch is legit or not, hence the post. If it was me I would be looking at something that cannot be ' faked ' easily or not at all.
It's your call.
Looks okay
The 3500 designation is shared with 111,177(?),possibly 112 et al as they used to jumbled the model altogether
My 111E has E0572/3500 so probably the same 3500 batch
