    Anyone used something like Permafence?

    Hi

Thinking of changing the wooden fence we have to something that needs less maintenance whilst still using the existing concrete posts. Came across Permafence - https://www.permafence.co.uk - which looks ok.

Anyone done this? I was thinking of installing a metal fence but wasn't sure if I could still use the existing concrete posts with something like that and also thought that they might be quite noisy in the rain!

    Cheers

We've put up a new fence using the Cocklestorm composite fence panels with concrete posts:

Really pleased with them - very sturdy and reasonably priced. The grey also shows no sign of fading after a couple of years.

Worth checking they will fit in your existing posts though!

Thanks, they look worth a try for sure. I think I'll need to get some concrete bases as well as looking at the fence now, it is sitting on the ground. Presuming a concrete base would just slide in place once the existing fence panel is removed?

Where the Cocklestorm ones easy to fit?

I had the concrete posts installed by a tradesman but fitted the panels myself, they just slot in so very easy. We also bought 6" concrete base boards from Cocklestorm to strim against. It should be a straightforward swap if the channel in your existing posts is the right size - worth sending for a free sample of the fencing to check the fit first
