Is there such a thing as a modern looking pocket watch?

I've never owned a pocket watch, mainly because I think that the dials and hands look like they come from the 19th century. Are the modern looking specimen around?

This is as modern as I've ever seen:

Good question and I'm keen to hear what people come up with. Unhelpfully, my initial thought is what does a modern wristwatch look like let alone pocket watch. Most new watches today are riffs of designs decades or centuries old.

Always thought the Mondaine ones were quite nice - a modern design classic?

Tissot are one of the few brands I am aware of that make a fair few pocket watches. Not sure what your definition of modern is though.

    Modern pocket watch

If you fancy selling everything you own, Richard Mille do the RM20.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it. Interesting non the less.

The smartphone seems to have become the new pocket watch.

Take a look at some American railroad watches, particularly the movements, and you'll soon forget about "modern".

This quartz Citizen manages 1 second per year.

Also, this beautiful Omega electronic may not be exactly modern, but it's a lot more recent than most:
