You might find the funds released back today or tomorrow about 3pm. Firms and banks are getting better and faster at this. I had a couple of orders cancelled before Christmas and it was 1-2working days rather than the 5 quoted.

Ahh, congratulations! I was more seduced by the bargain price, I think, but they are lovely things

Cheers for that. I got one for £183 with the code

No need for the code anymore as Beaverbrooks have reduced their sale prices by a further 20%

This is tempting me as I don’t have a nice dress watch, well i do but you know how it is.

    Cheers,

    For goodness sake!

Arrived, but check the schoolboy error! Mark on the inside of the crystal which I assume is a blotch on the AR coating, sticks out like a bulldog’s you-know-what against the dark background. FFS zero chance of a replacement I suppose.

If you want the watch maybe get it worked on under warranty if they are unable to replace it?

Yup that’s an option as the price is defo a keeper, could do without the hassle though! I’ll do some phoning and see what can be done.

Thats annoying. Do you think it was returned previously due to the mark?

Crossed my mind too, but the guarantee card was completed yesterday so looks like I'm first recipient. What gets me is how both Omega and Beaverbrooks let this get into the wild!

Sending it back on Monday, cannot be arsed messing around or returning under warranty. Just not meant to be

A few years ago I almost got a bunch of the fellas here a military order of them at £1,100 each with free lifetime servicing. Deal fell apart, long story!

Granted, that military deal wasn't your everyday method of purchase.

Back in the real world almost bought one six months ago elsewhere at just over £3k, there's always a deal somewhere.

I’d be the same. They'd probably screw something else up while sorting out the glass. Forget to put the hands back on or lose the bracelet!

If it’s the white dot? Looks like a piece of debris rather than a mark. Just get Omega to take care of it, no reason why it won’t have a warranty.

I’d want to see how easy it was to read in real life before committing to a watch with black hands on a black dial.

What a shame, feel for you and I’d be gutted.

Not sure why they can’t just send a replacement watch when they re-stock as I’ve exchanged a few imperfect watches for replacements over the years including out of stock models.
May be just the picture but the second hand looks off centre which I wouldn’t expect of a watch at this price.
Ive always fancied trying one of these so it’s now back on my 2020 radar.

    Cheers
    Neil

They won’t restock a discontinued watch though.

Im sure Omega will sort under warranty, hopefully not too much hassle involved.

    Good luck

Try some googling, there was a link to official pdf documentation that explained the entire process of order. Has to come from a bona fide squadron etc. and minimum order of 15 iirc.

Nope it's defo the IR coating; cant capture it on cam but has a 'matte' smudge spot internally, if you know what I mean.

Absolutely would be fixed with a new crystal but really can't be bothered with the hassle and wait, plus I'm a bit fatalistic and it has to be perfect first time or I'm jogging on

If I get time on Monday morning I'll give Beavershot a ring to see if they have another in their system, although I doubt it.

And yes the second hand is a fraction out, funnily enough that doesn't bother me with it being perpetually in motion

This would be my choice, get a loupe and go over it noting any other issues, include a detailed letter / email and let Omega sort it,

Well, I was disappointed that my Skywalker order was cancelled but consoled myself with this which arrived from Beaverbrooks today.

Missed my last one which I sold and feels good to get another on the wrist.

Great looking piece , was considering this before the deal was pulled. Does this model have a different shade of blue to the vintage inspired version?

Yes quite a different piece to the CAW211P ‘McQueen’.
Crown on the right, different dial, different strap and (correct me if I’m wrong) slightly different movement which has now been superseded by the new in-house movement, hence this is now an old/discontinued model.

Are you sure it’s discontinued ? It’s still listed as current on the omega site? With a reassuringly expensive price tag!

I really like the brand. Wearing a Khaki King right now. Loads of watch for the money.

Haven't seen that one in the flesh though.

If you open an Imgur account and upload your photos you can then use the menu on your Imgur photos page on the right hand side to copy the hosted link, the one you need is BBCode (message boards & forums).

Then paste this link in your post and your photo will magically appear, you may wish to resize it using the Imgur resizing utility before posting in the interests of readability and bandwidth!

Been offline a couple weeks, was meaning to update on the faulty X-33.

Beaverbrooks have been outstanding! They had no others in UK stock but immediately offered to handle getting it repaired under warranty and offered goodwill for the hassle so I said okay. Then got updated to say Omega have a few still available so will swap for a fresh one. Result!

Must admit quite surprised how helpful the customer services lady has been, was expecting pretty shoddy being a high street retailer and all but honestly she’s on it like a pro

Kudos to Beaverbrooks. We always hear about the shoddy cs. Nice to get a report of people doing their job well. Contrasts with that pragnells debacle.

Based on recent feedback here I'd choose Beaverbrooks over Pragnell any day of the week.

    Re. the X33

Beaverbrooks reply to my order was:

"Unfortunately when sourcing your item it has come to our attention that we no longer have sufficient stock to be able to fulfil your order. As this is also now a dis-continued line between ourselves and our supplier we are now unable to obtain any more stock of this line."

Looks like they can find some at full price, despite being "dis-continued".
