Disgusting that they have been fined.

They certainly shouldn't be getting fined for this.

I signed this a while ago, and having been to Birmingham today on a blood bike, I can only hope they change the “rules”.

I think the bigger picture here is that bus lanes in Brum should be open to all motorbikes, as is the case in some other cities.

There are a lot of bus lanes in London which aren't open to bikes. Most are but a chunk still aren't. Have to check the signs each time when riding in London. Not sure why.

We bikers can use every bus lane in Bristol, and it is very useful.
As far as I recall, I have never seen a biker holding up a bus' progress, so I see no reason not to allow them in.

Do we have any blood bikers on here? I'm seriously thinking of applying, as it seems like a good way to give something back to the NHS. (I'm aware that I'd need to take some advanced tuition and a test first.)

It all depends who is in control/has responsibility of the road, TFL or any of the local councils.
    They all apply different rules.

Another consideration is if the road is a main arterial route.

Member 'downer' on here is and I was for nearly 10 years, only stopped due to relocating. When I joined you needed either IAM or Rospa under your belt, an assessment for being a blood biker and a clean licence - no idea what the criteria is now though.

Yes, we’ve been discussing it... same requirements now, it seems.
