Makes me a bit nervous tbh. If I’m reading it right it would mean 100% of food would effectively be genetically modified. Need to read more about it. Interesting - thanks for sharing
Wow!
It really does look like we are on the edge of an epoch changing event, right now.

Not to keen about this... Remembers me of the movie Soylent Green: old and obsolete people are 'asked' to die and be recycled for food.
A few years back there was a project called Liveable Cities. One of the suggestions then was growing food inside old apartment buildings, using lamps that are used in the drug-growing industry... Vertical farming, ultimately in so-called Plant-scapers. Currently, it's still in test phase, it has its disadvantages, but it could be reality soon. With better LED's the carbon footprint will reduce even more.

Foods version of the Sinclair C5.
We are what we eat. Or even, "we are what our food ate".
We aren't even close to understanding the chain of nutrients necessary to properly maintain and fuel human beings, and yet we're confident we can reengineer that?
I suspect this will end well for the people making and selling such food, and rather less well for the guinea pigs eating it. I'll pass.
