Pairs or Trio's - What have you got ?? (Pic Heavy)

Because I might be mildly mental, I often pick up (or have had) watches from the same stable.
Am I alone in this or do others collect more than one of the same (or similar) piece ??

    Breitling Aerospace (still on board)

CW Trident C60 (no longer on board)

    GMT (gone)

Helson Sharkdiver (no longer on board)

    Seiko Monster (now gone)

    Seiko Monster (still here)

    Blue Sumo (gone)

    Orange Sumo (resident)

Orient Star Classics (all still here)

    MM300 variants (both gone)

    Submariner variants (still here)

    Steinhart Ocean Ones (present)

Citizen Chronomaster (one here, one gone)

    Seiko SDGM (present)

Kemmner 007's (one in, one out)

Grand Seiko (two out of three gone)

Seiko Alpinist, Auto and Quartz (one out, one in)

Orient Mako (2 in, 2 out)

    Seiko SKX's (one remains)

GS SBGX Quartz variants (all barring one gone)

    Seiko 5's (in)

I'm convinced I'm not as mad as a box of Frogs and that this is a shared state of mind ??
Jeeeeez !! How bored am I waiting to get back to work

I did have a full set of Orient Makos:

I sold the above, but have bought back the Yellow and Orange, so these two are in the current line up:

I have a set of three mid 90s Red Alpinists:

I also have a set of the mid 2000s SARB Alpinists:

Out of interest Greg, do you still have that Seiko Quartz GMT Alpinist or is that long gone. That is currently on my wants list 👍

Hiya Ken, sadly, no longer with me. Picked it up a few years back from a real nice guy in Alaska of all places. I think it went on here when I let it go.

    Hope you're well mate

Cheers Greg, all good and no worries, currently talking to a guy in the US who has a couple of these GMTs. I sold a watch to a guy in Alaska - it was probably the same bloke 😂

Not something I can afford to do personally - well, I could, but it would mean having very little variety.

The only person here I knew on here who keeps multiples is Scott (athough he might have sold alot of these recently).

I don’t think you are the only one OP
I collect certain manufacturers but tend not to duplicate types of watch (apart from CWC divers)
    At the last count it’s...
    3x Sinn
    5x Marathon
    3x Roamer
    4x Precista
    6x Seiko
    2x Tudor
    3x Omega
    2x Hamilton
    2x Fortis
    6x CWC
    2x MKII
    2x Citizen
    2x Waltham
And probably a few more that I have forgotten
    I think it’s a standard collecting trait.

    How about quads?

I've got Rolex x 3, Sinn x 4 & Seiko x 4 as well, but they are all reasonably different to each other.

    Slightly off topic

But this collection started with just the one Junghans stopwatch.
But that was about 40 years ago.
Must have about 50 now. Never even look at them.
Whenever I think about selling them, I seem to just buy more.

    Your collection wins hands down.

Lovely photo, looks like a collection of smiling faces, two from The Clockwork Orange.

Love this. They look like a bunch of smiley faces feeling a bit awkward about being in such a great collection.

    Good going there.

I started doing this and found a mint 6309-7040 and a 7548-7010 in my birth month/year (Feb 81, so not far away from yours). Took a while to find them and stupidly let them both go.
I'm on the hunt again now but it's a slow process.

I've got loads of doubles, triples and foursomes of some of the Seiko 7A38's in my collection.

Here's a 3-way side-by-side shot I took yesterday, that I doubt will be appreciated by many.

    3 X blingy 7A38-6109 SAA114J.

I finished building up the one on the right from a salesman's sample case yesterday:

Not everybody's cup of tea, admittedly, but certainly a different slant on the 'diver' theme.

Here's my trio of Seiko 7A38-6020 SAA041J's I snapped at the weekend.

I'd just finished fettling the one on the left, now fitted with a NOS bezel, crystal, dial, etc.

One down; two more still to go ....

I previously had these two at the same time but have since sold both

However, I've since bought these two

And they will shortly be joined by this one which is on its way here from the US (and taking too bleedin' long!!)

I presume you have seen the new GMT version recently released?

I have - they certainly look nice but for the time being, they're only available as a 38mm. All my current SDs are 45mms whereas my first was a (now discontinued) 40mm bronze which I felt was too small and the steel and orange was a 42mm. I asked them and they said they don't know whether they'll be producing in either 42 or 45mm yet.

Yours is so like my old one that it actually is my old one - you bought it from me, Greg. The black and orange combo is why I've bought the incoming PVD version.
