Looking for recommendations for a single DIN head unit to fit into an older car without looking like a boy racer disco party. Key requirements are Bluetooth audio (streaming/cabled connection from both iPhone and Google Pixel 3).
Currently looking at Pioneer deh-80 PRS and Alpine CDE178B but not sure how recent they are and am getting lost in the plethora of acronyms and detail.

Thanks for this but I’m looking for something more subtle since for me (and the car it’ll be going into, Porsche 996) it’s a bit too “lit up like a Christmas tree”. I had a Becker head unit until it died which was in keeping with the car but their functionality doesn’t seem to be particularly good these days.
I believe the most popular option for the 996 is to relocate the climate controls and go double din.
Blaupunkt have recently released the SQR 46 DAB, offering USB, Bluetooth, DAB+....
Continental/VDO have been a good bet in recent years, also offering DAB, USB, Bluetooth, etc...

...and in a 986/996 style dash:
Happy to recommend a retailer for the above, who can also supply that 'PORSCHE' sticker

I think it was, http://www.vdo-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Audio.html
Vdo were (are) the same units but rebadged.
You can buy from the EU (until the end of Jan anyway...)

Get a Continental one as recommended above, they look very OEM.

I have one of the Continental VDO units in my 993.
Illumination colour is a good match to the rest of the dashboard at night and the unit looks correct for the age of the car
