Came across my old Rolex Bucherer spoons and a couple of Seikos in a box.

Opened a box yesterday and came across my old Rolex Bucherer spoons. I think it is pretty much the set.

They must have been in there about ten years as the silver plated ones have gone black.

Also in the same box, a couple of old Seiko SQ's.

My late Dad bought the left hand one new in 1979 and liking his one I bought the right hand one new in 1981.

Been in the box for a long time but a couple of new batteries saw them fire up straight away.

Good old Seiko. These watches bring back some memories.

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Interesting spoons Neil, not come across those before. What's their history?
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

Promotional items Peter, from Bucherer, a large Rolex agent in Switzerland and elsewhere.

Funnily enough I was given this promotional map of Lucerne from the same company (dates to the the '40's/'50's) by a friend recently.

    Cheers,
    Neil.

    Very nice.

It looks identical to my Dad's.

    What year is your one?

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Both of those Seikos are lovely. I have developed a soft spot for their early quartz watches, particularly with the 7546 movement.

    Bingo! My Dad's is a '79 too.

Seiko did so many different designs that to see another is not common.

My Dad always loved the dark blue dial. I hope you get as much enjoyment from yours.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Yes. I was very surprised to see your photo. Not exactly a common watch.

    Yes, they are great watches.

Lovely design with metal movements, and can still be picked up for small money.

I remember paying £30 for mine in 1981.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Ha! They really are too nice to get rid of. Yours look in excellent condition. Mine is my go to watch when I’m unexpectedly wearing a shirt. Nice and unobtrusive. Love it.
