    Christmas gift

    What did you receive ?
I wanted one of these and left a sock out for Santa.

Unfortunately all I got was a packet of Odor Eaters.....

If yoiu had got one of the former you'd then know if you needed the latter.

    Christmas gift

My other half knew I wanted this book so I was very pleased on Xmas morning, it’s absolutely stunning and if you love Speedmasters as do I then you should really try to find the money for it.

From my beloved, a watchbox :-)

Of course, this has resulted in her pointing at my watches, now neatly on display, and repeatedly asking "how much is this one worth?"

Oh I know, as clearly these could be sold to fund holidays and hangovers.

Of course, whenever I ask how much we could sell last year's holiday for to put money towards the next one, I get a rather blank look.

I did have a bit of fun when she was pointing and asking though, as I initially claimed my GS were worth £11,000 and £28,500 and reminded her that they were the ones she'd lent to her am-dram society (without asking me) for them to use on stage.

There's a bit in Blackadder goes Forth where they synchronise their watches.

The modern watches that the cast owned didn't look right so, while I was working away, she lent them the two of mine that she felt looked most appropriate.

Free beer and spaniel came too though...
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

My other half knows that lending 2 of my watches out could end in solicitor papers being drafted, but first she would need to know the safe combination

No horological gifts this year but I did receive a print of one of my favourite images, signed by the photographer.

    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

That’s all a bit Zen, Peter.

I love the idea of “half a pond”...

Mrs Mycroft would have a total meltdown if she had any idea what my watches were worth. Thank God she’s not the inquisitive type...
