    The Xmas bargain thread....

I wonder if this might be a useful centre for listing good deals available over the festive period. As a starter for ten, how about this?

I think current RRP is nearer £9,400.

Burrells have massive discounts at the moment:

    40% off Blancpain
    40% off Zenith
    30% off Omega
    30% off Breitling
    30% off Bremont
    30% off Tag Heuer
    30% off Tudor

Some absolute deals on there to be had, 30% off a blue Tag Monaco is not to be sniffed at. The B55 another one worth considering.

On the Omega Planet Ocean, I would have a look at Watts1858, the currently have the Big Blue and Deep Black with 33% off at £6k...reckon you could probably nudge a few hundred off on top

I ordered a new Speedmaster from them and got 25% off, arriving Friday

Looking at the Burrell's link from above, can anyone tell me the difference in these two Black Bays? They look identical but have slightly different reference numbers but a big price difference.

    https://www.burrells.co.uk/collectio...her-strap-41mm

    https://www.burrells.co.uk/collectio...her-strap-41mm

There are also two versions of the Black Bay Bronze listed but with a £1000 price difference.

Omega X33 available at £2595. RRP is over £4k I think and these are not that easy to find.

No that's another store in Kingston. I've let a friend know who was after one, if he declines it I'll say where it is on here.

    I wouldn’t say £5kish over list is a crash :)

I was disappointed at the WF sale.

I had a quick look but still the cheapest is £13.3k for a 6 year old blnr. Strong money still.

Great pick-up and fantastic price considering the recent increase. Think I'll go and put mine on now it's a lovely chrono IMHO, enjoy your BB.

Is it me or is Tudor the only real value proposition for a high end (for the high street) watch these days?

Those black bays... in house, COSC, 70hr power reserve, part of the Rolex family and can be had for £1600-£1700 with a discount.

Also, the Pelagos is an incredible watch for the money. I’ve been sucked in to the vintage Tudor sub world recently again and you’re paying £4500-£5500 for an old 79090 and then you realise you can get a second hand Pelagos for £2k or a new one with a discount if you ask.

It’s all been quiet on the Baselworld Tudor talk but I’m still dreaming of them moving on to a crown guard sub case next. I must check the length of time the original Tudor ‘no CG’ sub case was running for and compare to the current BB availability time. Surely it must be in their long term plan for the heritage range to move on?

At risk of a flaming, I was pretty unimpressed with the original BB Black when it came out. I tried on both Leather and Bracelet in Goldsmiths Canary Wharf and, despite wanting to love it, found the watch head a bit large, the leather bracelet felt plasticky and the bracelet felt cheap and flimsy by comparison to my Sinn 857 UTC.

I really like the 58 and in the new year of my numbers come up I may consider trying to source one, but only if the bracelet quality feels improved.

To be fair, I was similarly disappointed with a Datejust 36 at Heathrow too.

It wasn’t the new one, it was a couple of years ago. To be fair, comparing a hefty German tool watch in tegimented steel with a DJ on an Oyster probably isn’t a fair or sensible comparison. Either way, I hesitated and the rest is history.

Saw these 2 in Rox in the Argyll Arcade today, they are priced at £3850 in the window even though they are a higher price on the website. Might be worth phoning the store itself or visiting. Seems a bargain to me.I tried one on and the dial is lovely and catches the light, if i didnt get 2 watches for Christmas i would have bought one.

No no no, cannot be true.

Only one member here has ever acquired one of these on the cheap and he would be rich if he ever decided to sell it.

Now sold, should have bought when I could have. My wife text the salesman to buy it today as a surprise but it’s sold a few hours after I was in. Lovely watch and someone got a bargain.

I had the same problem attempting to enquire about this only to find the price had gone up 2k almost immediately, frustrating!!

I am relieved in a way though, I need to be patient and wait for my AD to finally decide it's my time!

Is £11.8k for a BLNR on jubilee a ‘bargain’? Thought prices have softened recently.

I couldn't call it a bargain but for an unworn 126710, that pricing is towards the lower end of the current scale, particularly from a Grey rather than private sale.

I was hoping to explore a trade and my post was really to confirm/highlight the Chronext practice of emailing reduced deals and almost immediately re pricing.

Ah I see.... Yeah for a grey it is on the low end. But have seen private sales ask for lesser than that. Guessing you’ve also tried the exploring the trade with WF?
