    The Xmas bargain thread....

I wonder if this might be a useful centre for listing good deals available over the festive period. As a starter for ten, how about this?

I think current RRP is nearer £9,400.

Burrells have massive discounts at the moment:

    40% off Blancpain
    40% off Zenith
    30% off Omega
    30% off Breitling
    30% off Bremont
    30% off Tag Heuer
    30% off Tudor

Some absolute deals on there to be had, 30% off a blue Tag Monaco is not to be sniffed at. The B55 another one worth considering.

On the Omega Planet Ocean, I would have a look at Watts1858, the currently have the Big Blue and Deep Black with 33% off at £6k...reckon you could probably nudge a few hundred off on top

I ordered a new Speedmaster from them and got 25% off, arriving Friday

Looking at the Burrell's link from above, can anyone tell me the difference in these two Black Bays? They look identical but have slightly different reference numbers but a big price difference.

    https://www.burrells.co.uk/collectio...her-strap-41mm

    https://www.burrells.co.uk/collectio...her-strap-41mm

There are also two versions of the Black Bay Bronze listed but with a £1000 price difference.

Think one is the original brown dial and bezel watch, the other is the slate dial and bezel from 2019. The brown one at 2150 odd looks bargainicous to me.

It’s worth noting that many of the watches in the Burrells sale are old stock or display watches. Not that it’s a problem and the guarantee always starts from the date you buy it, but sometimes that’s why there’s a price difference. I bought some watches from their sale last year and I was very happy with the condition, but they clearly weren’t brand new unopened.

Seems a Really good deal for £1792 and the black bay bronze also - I thought that particular version was discontinued. I had one and it’s a great watch.

Omega X33 available at £2595. RRP is over £4k I think and these are not that easy to find.

No that's another store in Kingston. I've let a friend know who was after one, if he declines it I'll say where it is on here.

That’s the Tudor BB chrono itch scratched then, some great deals at Burrells - funds emptied in time for the new year... merry Christmas all

Is it me or is Tudor the only real value proposition for a high end (for the high street) watch these days?

Those black bays... in house, COSC, 70hr power reserve, part of the Rolex family and can be had for £1600-£1700 with a discount.

Also, the Pelagos is an incredible watch for the money. I’ve been sucked in to the vintage Tudor sub world recently again and you’re paying £4500-£5500 for an old 79090 and then you realise you can get a second hand Pelagos for £2k or a new one with a discount if you ask.

It’s all been quiet on the Baselworld Tudor talk but I’m still dreaming of them moving on to a crown guard sub case next. I must check the length of time the original Tudor ‘no CG’ sub case was running for and compare to the current BB availability time. Surely it must be in their long term plan for the heritage range to move on?

Tudor are definitely looking good value watches, yes. Even they are riding t in price quite a bit though.

    I wouldn’t say £5kish over list is a crash :)

I was disappointed at the WF sale.

I had a quick look but still the cheapest is £13.3k for a 6 year old blnr. Strong money still.

At risk of a flaming, I was pretty unimpressed with the original BB Black when it came out. I tried on both Leather and Bracelet in Goldsmiths Canary Wharf and, despite wanting to love it, found the watch head a bit large, the leather bracelet felt plasticky and the bracelet felt cheap and flimsy by comparison to my Sinn 857 UTC.

I really like the 58 and in the new year of my numbers come up I may consider trying to source one, but only if the bracelet quality feels improved.

To be fair, I was similarly disappointed with a Datejust 36 at Heathrow too.

It wasn’t the new one, it was a couple of years ago. To be fair, comparing a hefty German tool watch in tegimented steel with a DJ on an Oyster probably isn’t a fair or sensible comparison. Either way, I hesitated and the rest is history.

That made me laugh. Price crash to nearly £7k above RRP.

  37. #37
I’f Say the 3 black 116610 subs at £8.3k look well priced in the watchfinder sale. Especially as the rrp is going up in a few days. Only a grand or so over list for a desirable ss sports Rolex ain’t bad is it?

Great pick-up and fantastic price considering the recent increase. Think I'll go and put mine on now it's a lovely chrono IMHO, enjoy your BB.

In Chiang Mai again and the Seiko concession in Maya Plaza is liquidating stock crazy cheap. SLA021 at £1400 but best deal is SLA 033 at a quite frankly insane £1800. I have no money but I'm still buying it at that price
