Website for private number plates - recommendations please

Can anyone recommend a good company to use. I’ve never purchased a private plate before and there are lots of firms out there.

    Thanks and and happy Christmas.

I use regtransfers.com - always been happy with their service and pricing (usually find there’s a bit of room for negotiation too.)

I used these people. Nice and painless tbh.

I made an offer on a plate that I fancied and was immediately turned down, which I said fair enough. They then phoned me a couple of weeks later with a counter off which I turned down. On the last day of the month they excepted my original offer.

    So there’s room to negotiate.

    Google DVLASOM

A lot of the plates on retail sites are available on DVLA without the extra charges....

For £36 you can get your name legally changed to be the same as your current registration plate.

Check DVLA first, then regtransfers, they have the best selection.

    Happy Christmas Dave,

I just went straight to DVLA website and cut out the middle man

In years gone by, I've used Elite Registrations, and would have recommended them ....

But the last plate I bought was direct from the DVLA.

I’ve never had a private plate in my life, but after reading this thread I have now! Bought from DVLA last night (OK, I’d had a couple of beers, lol). Got a new car arriving on Jan 3rd and it’s going on that. Cue my wife rolling her eyes when I fessed up this morning. “I can’t leave you on your own, can I?”.

    Cheers,

    Plug

That's a good ploy as she won't know about the very expensive watch you bought 10 minutes later...
