Beautiful. Puts the plain Jane SS ones firmly in their place.

That's quite the early xams present! Stunning watch, I imagine the rose gold gives it a bit more weight which I feel the SS variant is lacking.

    Stunning watch.
Much more so than the steel.

Congratulations, this gold version is a significantly much nicer watch than the 5711. I remember a few years back observing a rather pretty woman wearing one, was fantastic. Enjoy!

    great Forum name ! 'Genta'

yep a lot more substantial has a really nice heft to it....I tried the stainless lovely piece of engineering but I have to say it did feel a tad err 'light' for my tastes.

Beautiful. Although I hope you're not in a Polo with that watch. Very unbecoming! Merry Christmas, no prizes for guessing what you'll be wearing tomorrow.

    Thanks Mike and Happy Christmas...

agree RG such warmth ...does feel completely different to wearing chunkier sports Rolex...so takes some getting used to.

I think I saw that model in the window of Boodles in Chester yesterday (definitely RG, can't remember the dial colour) and it looked gorgeous - congratulations!

Never been a fan of the steel versions but that gold one is gorgeous!

It actually looks as it should have done to start with.

    Merry Christmas!
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Thanks Neil and All well wishers...still grinning.

I was lucky to get invited to a PP open day where all the models were on display and available to try

loved the Aquanauts in particular the Travel Time and the Chrono 5968 (next time) then tried on the Nautilus(s) 5711-1A love the looks and stainless with blue favourite but it was unexpectedly 'light' but I usually wear GMT / Sub etc so it did not feel right then I tried the big boy on 5980/1R wow what presence and heft and I thought thats the one for me.....then I tried the 5711/1R and to me its the best combination of them all just sublime......

Just lovely, and you've captured it nicely. [I have the plain-jane SS version.] That first scratch on the bezel is gonna hurt though ...

    Thought I recognised it, I’ve also got a Golf R 7.5 estate.

Sadly I don’t have a watch like yours. A few years ago I had the regular blue faced steel 5711 so I know what you mean about the lightness, it’s the main reason I sold mine. If only I’d known prices were about to go loopy...

What an ugly watch! It’s the pins in the strap, the old-movement or just it’s sheer Class you lucky bugger.
    Enjoy!

I hate to say it, but I prefer the steel version. It's the dial.
