Sinn info. Sinnfo, if you will.

I’m feeling the appeal of one of the oil-filled Sinns, but finding it quite hard to get info on models.

From looking at the Sinn website it appears that the only model is the EZM 2B, which comes in a number of variants, all of which are quartz (which I guess makes sense as a mechanical movement would not cope with the resistance)

Is that the extent of the Hydro range, or are there other models I’m missing?

Also, are there any other oil-filled watches that I should be considering?

Here's some info on Sinn's oil-filled "hydro" models. The current model, the UX (EZM 2B), is based on the EZM2.

The only other oil-filled watch I know of is the Bell and Ross Hydromax, but I'm not sure when these were last available.

The UX is a fantastic watch - great build quality and legibility.

Only the Sinn UX models are oil filled. There are a few other manufacturers with oil filled models like Beuchat and Hypertech.

I have the SDW pro and it is small, cheap, plastic, fun and has a user replaceable batery!

Thanks for all the info chaps.

Bazza, the one on the right is the currently available one I believe, the one in the left is the older model?

yep, the UX diver on the right, put mine on today coincidentally after a couple of months stuck in the safe. Be aware that if you buy second hand check the age of the battery, Sinn makes optimistic claims for the life IMO and a change requires sending it back to Germany, not difficult but can become pricey, count on $200 or more. Unlike other German brands that i’ve owned, Sinn falls into the good guys category with excellent service.

My battery lasted 8years, so don’t worry too much about the service cost....
