If you search for ‘Rolex Price increase’ on here, I’m sure that you’ll find multiple threads from over the years, outlining the various increases. It shouldn’t take too long to get the information that you’re after.

And what do you base that on? Internet heresay or something more substantial?

Unless you can convince me there should be two, there's only one guy's opinion I`d be convinced by.

It isn't his job to convince you.

It really is funny watching people get excited about price rises for watches that aren't available for sale.

I`m giving him chance to substantiate his claim.

In the environment I worked in you had to be able to back up your statements with substance to maintain credibility. There's a difference between quoting something you know to be fact, or proven to be fact, and stating an opinion. I`m merely asking why these folks are so confident. Clearly, they either know something the rest of us don't, or they're speculating.

Fact, informed opinion, speculation/guessing........3 different things.

If the GMT hand is red again (and finished/painted correctly) that's interesting. All SS GMTs are on jubilee moving forward anyway and black was/is to be expected.

A nice simple answer from someone who will certainly know.

I’d imagine he’ll be humbled at being given such an opportunity!

Elsewhere in the real world it seems to be the same story on just about every post on every forum and social media.

It is, but the 'debates' can be fun. I suspect the ones who really know won't tell us, but we've got two guys saying it's a certainty but not letting us know why they're so sure!

Are they Rolex ADs, or work for Rolex ?.....or are they like Mystic Meg?

As above, price rise on a brand which cannot supply the market with adequate stock and has it’s AD network displaying thin air in their windows. A few years ago this kind of information would have been relevant, as buyers looked to pick up a model before any price increase but with nothing available, this information becomes unfortunately irrelevant if looking to buy from the AD network. What may be of interest will be the secondary market, normally with a price increase they would increase their stock prices but with what appears to be a flatlining of prices from the ridiculous heights and even what we are seeing a drop, with stock still not flying out of the Secondary dealers windows, we could be heading in the direction of another couple of Rolex RRP increases over the next 18/24mths and Secondary market prices getting closer to each other.

The secondary market is now taking a hit on the limits someone will pay for a steel watch, no matter the supply and no one is in a rush to pay £15k for a GMT or £25k for a Daytona and I can certainly not see these secondary prices rising anymore no matter what the RRP increase Rolex implements.

Found two interesting items on the interweb.

The first is a rather good chart (with MS-Excelsnd PDF versions) on Rolex prices over the years by model:

    https://www.minus4plus6.com/PriceEvolution.php

The other is more an attempt to explain the history of Rolex pricing.

Because most AD will be shut NYD surely ?

For the record my Pepsi I got last year was made available the day after the price increase, about £350 extra for the AD iirc.

The cynic in me says they had it in stock the few days before and kept hold until the new rrp kicked in .

If it was my business I’d have done exactly the same to be honest.

Depends on year end targets for individual stores. Not exactly hot pieces but 2x OP39 in white and black in a store near work in London today. I would understand them holding them back but I guess they have targets to hit.

Yes, likely due to stores being shut on 1st Jan.

Funnily enough, I got my JC Deepsea a day after the last increase!

It really says something that a company can take a customer for an extra £350 and the customer has no complaints.

They rang me up and told me my watch had been delivered and was ready for collection, the price on the day of collection was the current rrp .

I willingly entered into a purchase contract at that price.

Can’t possibly complain about it , no one forced me to buy it.

I think its nice to see Rolex increasing the prices of their watches as its usually the customer that decides what they are worth!!

My AD called to say my hulk was ready one week after the last price rise. I knew they weren’t holding it back as they called to offer a BLNR 2 weeks before and I said I’d hold out for the HULK.

    Good!
I’ve only payed over RRP for one watch, my SD43.
The increase will bring it back into line.

I am in the same position as the SD43 is the only watch i paid over RRP for PLUS i was about to sell one so i may as well wait to the New Year and see if pre owned Rolex prices go up also.

Ha I'm similar. Just bought something so need something to go just haven't gotten round to taking pics yet. Think it would be silly to list now if there is an increase in two weeks, especially as people have more important things going on. It can wait until Jan/Feb.

I don't keep an eye on this sort of thing, so was completely unaware of this possibly being in the pipeline.

However, I received my new SD43 today, and can confirm that it is happening.
When collecting it (Mappin and Webb/WOS) I was told that UK Rolex prices were increasing 7.5% at the end of the month.
I asked if they had not already had one this year and was told that the last increase was just over a year a go, and it was 5% that time.
Feel for all of though's who are waiting and affected in the pocket adversely. Makes a pleasant change for me to luck in in such a manner.

Just waiting for quotes back from Watchfinder and Mark Worthington and was about to list on TZ this weekend but knowing how recent Rolex sales threads have gone i probably won't bother.

I haven't checked the recent sales as i gave up the way the threads were going...

Thanks for pointing out that normality has returned to the Rolex sales thread so i can consider all options.

Could be due to the rise in GBP against the Euro.
