    Tragedy

Last Wednesday I returned from my work’s Christmas meal to hear the tragic news that my friend’s daughter had passed away. She was only 13 and in my youngest daughter’s class at school. She had been fine, but felt unwell a few days before and rapidly deteriorated and died in hospital from sepsis. I can’t begin to imagine how a parent can possibly cope with such a loss. I doubt they’ll ever enjoy a Christmas again. Lauren’s mum has set up a Just Giving page to raise funds for Alder Hey hospital who did their best to save Lauren. If anyone can spare a donation however small, I’m sure it would be appreciated. Perhaps out of this tragedy Lauren’s mum and Dad can get some small benefit. The page is here if you can spare a small donation. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/l-menzies06

Simply heartbreaking. I hope that Lauren's family can find some solace and get all the support that they will need in the years ahead.
Alder Hey is staffed by the most incredible people, it's a special place.

So many things appear crazy at the moment but nothing compares to such a family tragedy, thoughts go out to the family.

Life is really unpredictable. A good reminder for us to look at who we have around us and treasure every moment.

    My condolences.

A tragic loss of a lovely young girl. Donation made, especially in view of the amazing work that Alder Hey do routinely.

Bloody Hell, that's horrible, horrible news. I have twins of 10 and the thought of going through what her poor family are brings a tear.
    Devastating.
