    Favourite acquisition of 2019?

Been an interesting year for me. A couple of changes to the core collection and a clear favourite this year.
Just love the amount of straps this works with.

So what’s your favourite watch acquisition this year?

ISTR that this is your birth year ‘grail. It’s certainly my favourite of 2019:

It has to be this one. I was not that keen when I first bought it. I have since changed the bracelet for the tropical which imo make's it more appealing and more wearable.

For me it’s my Tudor GMT, purchased for a great price and basically new, Tudor just nailed it with this watch tbh...

I know its predictable but the DJ41 purchased through the forum has made me realise why the Datejust is Rolex's best selling watch. Not the most expensive or exclusive or desirable but such a first class classic.....

Well I really like the Dan Henry 1962 Panda, great look and great size.....

But it was beaten by the 16610 which turned up recently....

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

This GS for me. I’ve had a snowflake before but this beats it hands down. The dial is just fantastic and it’s become my daily wearer during the week

Favourite as in one that gets more than it's fair share of wrist time was this.

But the one that brought the most satisfaction was the white dial version as it's extremely difficult to track one down and I was well chuffed at getting it.

PRS40A for me. There's something about its' quirky looks and the way it feels that is so right - it certainly escapes the box more than any other.

Halios Seaforth bronze on a Pavel strap. Hasn’t left my wrist yet. Amazed how quickly patina is developing.

That’s an easy one... 2019 was full of changes for me and was definitely a challenging year. But I had a few incomings that that make it by far the best year of my life!
The most important is my firstborn daughter! I feel lucky just seeing her grow and smile every single day..
    And as soon as she arrived, this popped up for sale;

I had been trying to source one for many years so it felt like a sign...

Split between the GS and the Minase. The Minase incredibly is actually better finished than the GS but that red dial on the GS is mesmerising.

    BB58.

I cannot believe how good this watch is for the money. As much as a £2.5k watch can be a bargain, I think this is.

Been the hit list for a while - so to get one this year was very pleasing.

For me it is probably the Poljot Okeah. I was expecting the quality to be mediocre in line with, say, Seagull 1963, but in fact it way exceeded my expectations, the finish is good and the time keeping on my example is excellent.

Bought three and sold 2 and this is favourite for 2019.

  35. #35
    Can’t decide between these two.

I guess Omega, because of it is still in family and Oris is sold twice.

Significantly reduced my collection by selling 6 and just adding these 2 which are here for good.

Since the cost of vintage timepieces have jump up bigtime. I only bought three this year a slow year. Bought two vintage deck watches and this the only vintage wristwatch I guess my favorite one of the year.

Size is just right for me (7.5 inch wrist) and quality is 'like God made it'.

    Hope that helps :)

It's a difficult choice but based on the dial colour and retro looks, probably this one.

Had a few this year but this one was an unexpected opportunity that I took on SC.
Plenty scratches so can be worn without any thoughts of damage.

I’ve also been very lucky with lots of ins and outs! But this blue Buckley is a bit special and unpolished. A white one came along shortly afterwards which is still being serviced but think the blue is a keeper..

Or perhaps this full set unpolished OQ!

Probably torn between 2. The Black Bay Chrono Dark is amazing but for sheer presence, heft and superb finish it’s this both very expensive for my restricted budget so a side project that cost less is also a 2019 favourite
