A change in personal circumstances has encouraged me to focus on the lower levels of the watch market and it has been a nice exercise in seeing just exactly what is 'out there'.
I had already tried Orient a few years back, so I knew the value for money would be good. I found what I think is a Mark II Mako XL - a rather nice, distinctive new addition. The lume is ropey, which surprised me as it is within the Seiko House, but I liked the hand set shape. It is a very comfortable (if slightly heavy) watch and I have worn it for two weeks straight. I guess the movement is not exactly cutting edge, but the timekeeping has been a nice surprise, just +120 sec over 10 days, all for under a tonne.

Good call. I like a bit of green. While I’m waiting for my ship to come in, in the form of a Kermit with my name on it, I’m rocking a similar looking Seapro sourced from sc.
