Great gesture. His is a particularly iconic watch - never without it. I’m sure it will raise a good sum and for a great cause.
He seems a genuinely good man, so it’s nice to hear you confirming that is the case.

Let’s hope this raises plenty from such a great man and wonderful family whom we as our own family got to know in the mid 60s. They are as kind as they appear off screen.

Top golfer and a great cause.
The strap looks a bit tired - a problem with the "links"?
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Be nice if a wealthy American bought it and returned it to him.
His talking watches (Hodinkee) was one of my favourites, and shows what a legend he is for parting with that particular watch for such a worthy cause. Lets hope it does well!
By a country mile the most iconic watch in golf, and there are plenty of very rich golf players and enthusiasts that will be interested. It could go for crazy money. Let's hope so.
I remember him talking about this in his talking watches episode. Here's hoping it goes for a ridiculous amount of money.
Is that the one he wore in "The Shining" ?
Think this will go for way over the estimate. Probably be bought by a major gold equipment company or a wealthy fan. Worst case scenario is Trump buys it.
Amazes me he can sell it after wearing it for 50 years! It must feel like a good friend with so many memories attached to it.
He started wearing it 10 years before I was born, and I feel old!
Sold for a nice round $1Million.
Good outcome.
A model sportsman.
Wishes he wasn’t a Trump supporter.
