    Do you know what Mark spitfire it is, and how it was modified? Does it still have a Merlin engine?

    Removed all signs of weaponry (not to upset countries visited !) and replaced with extra fuel tanks, in wings and behind the cockpit
    Indeed, the amazing R R Merlin, it even overshadowed the 2 'Arrows' escorting.
    (makes your hair stand on end ....)

    fantastic effort,though why there wasnt more publicity I dont know.

    it would be interesting to see how they managed the maintenance.

    They were escorted by a PC12, in matt black, looked rather menacing.... Mechs/spares etc (and the Spit's 2nd pilot !)
