I love the watch but just wish they made a 40mm version.
On the subject of bond watches -
Why does Connery's Rolex 6538 have aged lume in the 60's? Surely even if it was a few years old prior to shooting the film it wouldn't have aged so apparently yellow tinged as appeared on screen in Dr No, From Russia with Love , Goldfinger and Thunderball.
I'm aware old radium went off quicker than today's lumes but those on screen bond watches were doing 'aged patina ' before aged patina was 'in vogue'.
Roger Moores 5513 seems to be a firm whitish colour in Live and let die (regardless if it's a prop) and The man with the golden gun shows a few wrist shots of it clearly not aged and still relatively white . Had Rolex started directly providing new watches by then ?

I spoke with an Omega AD ‘who was told by the Omega rep that they worked with Craig on designing the watch and based it on his idea for the mesh. He actually put a mesh on his own watch to show them how he wanted it to look’ that was a 60’s Seamaster.
I’m not sure that is all 100% true but it is a nice story and given that he has a decent collection (well you would with his money) it may not be that far fetched.
I want to like it but I really don’t. It looks like it’s been accidentally left face down in a saucer of fake tan.

Nice watch at that RRP I think I would rather go down the real Bond watch route and buy a 114060, put it on a NATO and smile.
Nuance? "I always find faux vintage criticism a little stupid". Your enthusiasm to agree with someone has seen you misplace your nuance. I'm replying to your own words. If you're losing control of them, that's your own fault.
Its an nice watch but 7.3k for a Seamster!
10 years ago a Seamaster auto was £1,300 talk about watch price inflation !
Lovely watch (still prefer the spectre) but the price is ridiculous.
Not sure about the fake NATO stock number but not the end of the world.
Sword hands for the win..
Yep. The Seamaster is a great looking and well-specced watch, and I appreciate the skeleton hands are one of its hallmarks, but I do find their legibility very poor. Looking at one the other day when the time was somewhere between 7.35 and 7.40, i.e. with four same-sized circular lume pips all jostling for space within a few mm of each other, it was as if someone had spilled a bag of golf balls on the dial :(
I like it .. but the price is ridiculous

Stunning watch!
Huge price!
I was passing Goldsmiths the other day and had a look at the Seamaster range for the first time in ages. Three things struck me:
- some stunning watches
- the barnacle on the side has gotten bigger since I owned mine
- the prices: Jeez!!!!
Not a fan of the watch or the price, but I’d happily pimp my own Seamaster with that mesh bracelet. It looks nice, but not $900 nice!
