    Last Breath - Netflix

I know it's been mentioned on here previously when it was on BBC4 but I've just watched this on Netflix and wow, it was great.
Certainly recommend a watch if you haven't already seen and surely one of the best finishing lines in a film ever....

    Will need to watch that.

You may remember a docudrama on TV decades ago, about Piper Alpha. A very-well put together production which ended with actual footage from ARI when they wheeled in one survivor with burned face and hands - to the press conference. He went on to describe who he never saw again, how he made it across the platform, and into the water. His hands were still in plastic bags at the interview.
One of the reporters asked at the end: “Do you think you will go back offshore?”

He replied: “I don’t think so ......(pause) .......no”.

As he said “no” his head and shoulders slumped and he was looking at his knees. That man was broken.

The camera went to soft focus, and zoomed out.............. The End.

I’ve never seen such a poignant ending - the director captured it perfectly. Still brings a lump to my throat.

Thanks for posting, that was amazing. I had no idea what these guys actually go through on a daily basis to do their job, never mind a situation like this.

I’ll watch the other one about PA next.

I finally got around to watching Last Breath this evening. What an amazing film! The style reminded me of Touching the Void. As mentioned above, the final line of the film had me laughing out loud as the humour is the same as military humour - brilliant!

Caught up with my mate Friday who was the other diving team in the decompression chamber. His version was even scarier, but says the documentary was accurate. He was also the other diving medic and laughs about using the tea cosy on the divers head, lots of piss taking etc.

    Amazing story, amazing men!
