Is this one of those GCHQ recruitment things?

Google says the answer is 3365.

Save up to 500. If it's less you now have beer money and if it's more you just top it up.

    Heartfelt congrats, Eddie.

Only thing to keep in mind are the proportions of the hands. The minute hand should be thinner and the counterbalance of the second hand longer.

Michael Sandler took this pic in the IWC museum and it shows exactly what we're opting for:

This is a most important project.

When might we see this at the store, hopefully sometime this year. Looks great Eddie.

I had an idea. Instead of the circle L how about a circle T but with a small "-" midway along the righthand side of the vertical below the horizontal? (Could be attached to the upright or free floating). So it would be T F monogram. Keeps the look if the original and subtly says the brand name.

I love this - the mark xi is a favourite, so I'll be queueing when it's released. I think I prefer the non-boobies logo in the first post; to my eyes it looks more in keeping with the IWC dials, both in regard to the typeface and to the overall balance of the dial.

Do you mean something like this? Sorry but no. I am used to Eddie's 'L'.

Erm...here in the US, among the younger folks, "TF" when texting not-so-subtly abbreviates "WTF?" Just a heads-up.

    I agree 100% ... maybe 200% even ... :)

I think the dial starts to get too "symbol" heavy and busy with the boobies up top as well ... you've already got the Broadarrrow and the circled 'L' Lume symbol ... the extra boobies as a third symbol make it all look a bit cramped up top, especially with the triangle at 12 as well.

So a case of two's company and three's a crowd for me !

Yes, just so. All in the same weight font though and possibly the added "-" ending in-line with the one above but not touching the vertical (i.e. some space between the upright and the "-").

So it would be exactly the same as the MoD circle-T with one additional white line. The mark then does double duty as T and F.

That symbol is supposed to denote the type of lume used though ... T for Tritium and L for (Super)Luminova ...

I don't like it, seems like it's trying too hard to be clever. Branding is branding, the circle-T or circle-L is meant to serve a different purpose. IMO, either include it for the sake of authenticity (in which case keep it authentic), or get rid of it entirely to free the dial up from some extra clutter. Don't try to be cute about it.

Says on the spec sheet that it has X1-C3 luminous, which from what I can tell from a bit of quick google action is a variant of Super Luminova, so I guess the circled L is the correct symbol ?

The Expedition oyster bracelet would suit both versions quite well, I think.

This might just be the Timefactors watch I’ve been waiting for! I got hooked on TZ-UK because of the original SB3 but I could never really get on with the unbranded dial and I ended up owning and flipping 4 I think!

The prototype looks very well balanced.

Any chance to make the crown thicker like a Hamilton khaki field? For easier winding.

Looking great but it'd look even better with the same logo as the PRS-29. Works better for a field watch imo.

Most definetly a lovely watch. I might be in the strange minority here but the cream / white dial for me, although I would prefer a whiter dial, similar possibly to my Marloe Chronoscope. Love a hand wind.

Hey everyone, first time poster but have been lurking for a while.

Out of curiousity, what PRS model will this new watch be given @swanbourne ?

MkII might be seen as stepping on IWC's toes. Anyway, it won't be called Mk XI, never was going to be.

    Hmmm...intriguing.

Not knowing much about the watch 😳 I just had a Google and came across this https://www.maunderwatches.co.uk/sho...itary-mark-11/

'Herstmonceux' or 'RGO' might be appropriate in a historical context?

I may have missed this in the thread so apologies if I have. Will it have an anti mag rating of 4800A/m like the Everest or 20,000 like the 29AM, or something else? I will be saving for one of these, hopefully.
