I sold my SBDX001 minter for £1,700 a few months ago, I think that is still the top end of where you should be looking for either the 001 or 017 unless you find one BNIB in which case the seller will likely be looking for 2k plus based on my observations.

Thanks - agree on pricing - probably need to spend £2k for a LNIB with all the bits

There are also a few SBDX001's out there for sale

I want it for an Xmas present so needs to be in good condition

I tried buying a vintage Speedmaster earlier but that didnt work out, if it did I would be seriously considering letting my SBDX001 go and I never thought that day may come!

Great watches if you can get a nice one.

Some prefer the SBDX001, it has creamier lume plots and no diashield so you can buff out marks on the polished areas, also no X laser etched on the crown, that being said both are lovely watches with commanding wrist presence.

The weak point is the bezel inlay, it is a lacquered finish, not sapphire and will scratch comparatively easily detracting from the looks. Replacement bezels are big money now!

I think I sold a mint one to someone on here a few months back for £1350 which seemed towards the bottom end of forum prices then but about what I paid. I suspect £1500 ought to be enough so £2k seems high to me.
