Computer/TV advise

Hi Guys

I,m sure there's a few experts here who can help me with a simple problem, I have run a HDMI lead from my computer to my back of my TV, when I got to HDMI 2 on the TV I am getting sound from the computer on the TV and the picture of my home screen on the TV and nothing else, not even the shortcuts showing from my PC, do I need to do any settings on my TV or PC as I thought its just a plug and play solution,

It's probably detected multiple displays and set it up as two. You can probably get across to the display on the tv by moving the cursor off one side or other on the PC screen. Just look at the display settings for the PC and you can set multiple screens up in various ways to suit what you want.

Cheers, set it up in display to mirror image so it now works on the tv, only little issue is the windows player can’t be opened on my PC whilst playing on the tv so cant pause it without first unplugging the hdmi from the pc, Doh!!,

Which media player & Windows version are you using?

Maybe set it up as an extended desktop. That way you can move the app to which ever you want and get at the controls either way? You should be able to set the PC screen as the preferred one to open apps on initially

Windows + P will help you select mirror or extend etc.

Leave HDMI in TV & unplug/ replug from laptop to get connection handshake.
