    Cheap quartz diver?

Looking for inspiration for a cheap quartz diver as a CWC is currently out of reach. Any suggestions?

What’s the budget ? Are you after something that looks like a CWC, or just a good general diver ? If it’s the former then there are quite a few Monnin cased, or “Monnin style”, divers out there for reasonable prices. Here’s a NOS (or perhaps put-together) diver that came out of France. Have a look on eBay if this kind of thing fits the bill.

Scurfa every time, simply put its by far the most well built watch under £1000 that I've tried, including a load of the budget swiss ones

I wholeheartedly agree, possibly the best value diver available, I’m tempted to get a second in PVD.

If you like vintage, Seiko 7548 divers are still great value at £200-300

Divex Professional 200m? I can't think of a better value quartz diver.

Apeks, Aqualung, Cressi, Divex, Tauchmeister, all basically the same with different branding. Divex used to be a forum favourite.

Seiko movement, available in 200m, 500m or 1000m WR.

Completely agree regarding the Seiko, but by £300 your pretty much in the range for a lightly used (non-issued) CWC quartz.

I’ve always wanted one of these monin divers, would have love’s a Heuer but they’re silly money. Maybe one day when I’m not destitute!

    Citizen BN0100

I've had 2 Scurfa divers and VFM is amazing, on reflection it was only something as silly as the Scurfa logo that made me move them on, such is the lunacy of WIS-dom, however a mate has a Divex 200m which is very decent, my plan is subscribe to the Diver magazine when these are a free giveaway, win win.

Another vote for Scurfa. Had an original Diver One and now have the second version with blue dial and bezel. Miss the ceramic bezel but this version overall is an improvement on an already exceptional watch. I think it’s been updated further again with new movement and HEV - and the designer can legitimately claim good reason to include the HEV which is rare!

Picked up a black no date scurfa so far very impressed with it. However I'm still tempted by another prs-18 and a little further ahead trying a CWC rn diver

Thanks for all the feedback 👍

Put a WTB for the RN when you're ready, they usually sell for around £350 preowned which makes it a pretty easy pick up.

Thanks for the tip I'll try that after Christmas, the scurfa might have to make way and I'll save the money I'd spend on a prs-18
