Would you take apart a 60k watch just to have a look...

    ... I wouldn’t.

    But this guy does.

While still in the (long term) search of my GMT/dual time, I heard about this crazy Breguet with a «*mechanical memory*» and made some searches. Stumbled across this. Don’t know if you knew that website?

Love this website, can spend hours on it.

The sadest thing is that this model is completly out of budget! :’(

He's a watchmaker so it's not quite the same as me going at it with a case opener and screwdriver! Also sponsored by high end watch makers (Breguet included).

I do really, really appreciate the detail the articles go in to. Huge amount of patience to not only disassemble the watches, but also photograph them so cleanly an clearly.

Indeed! What a great work and so pleasant to share...

Didn’t know about the arrangements with the watchmakers!

Yes indeed, always good to give them coverage.
It's become of my favourite sites for watches because of the depth, nothing else compares really.

And not just any watchmaker, Peter Speake-Marin is one of the finest. The Naked Watchmaker site is there for people to learn and see how things really work and I love his deconstructions.

That is a lovely Breguet as well.

It's Peter Speake-Marin; one of the finest watchmakers in the industry.

With the right tools, any skilled watchmaker well versed in various complications is capable of taking most watches apart.

When taking any strange watch apart, the digital camera is the best tool in the box! Lots of nice macro pictures..........and don’t lose any parts!

Keep parts in the order you took them out.

I would have a box full of buts and pieces after taking one of those apart and attempting to put it back together lol
It's just a matter of time...

Fascinating, thanks. Even beyond the complexity of the movement, I’m impressed by the dial being made up of 20 pieces.
