    RIP Gary Rhodes

Didn't even realise he was poorly. 59 is no age. RIP

Good grief. Very sad to hear of this. My favourite TV chef - everything he did had me salivating...

    RIP Gary.

Always came across v.enthusiastic and without the big I-AM of tv presentation. Sounds like it must have been quick as he was out in Dubai working for a hotel group

Any idea of the cause? It says he was working up until the day he died, so I'm not sure if even he knew he was poorly.

***edit*** Another news outlet states that he passed with his wife by his side, but the cause it as yet unknown.

    Sad news.

I remember going to his restaurant City Rhodes 20 years ago and had the best bread and butter pudding. I could just picture him using a blow torch to caramelize the top.

    RIP

This is quite a shock, he was one of the few TV chefs I had any time for.

Absolutely terrible, watched him many a time and he seemed a genuinely nice bloke.

I recall too he went all buff and into fitness a few years back, just shows we never bloody know. RIP.

Very sad. He was my favourite chef to watch on tv back in the early 2000’s I guess. Always wanted to eat what he was cooking. Very genuine guy.

Some years ago a friend sent me a photo of himself and Gary both smiling as they showed off their Rolex subs. at a culinary event he was attending. I think he was well up on horology matters as well as amazing cooking.

Sad news indeed. He inspired me growing up to get into the kitchen & learn time cook.

Remember meeting him at Rhodes & Co at Old Trafford when I was in Manchester for a meeting. Lovely chap, too young at 59.

Very sad indeed, all round nice guy without the big head ego of some of his contemporaries.
Reports say he fell ill during an interval whilst filming for a new TV series in Dubai and died shortly afterwards.
    RIP chef Gary.

This is very sad news RIP Gary, doubt anyone else would mention this but my Mrs was genuinely saddened as she’s a strictly fan and remembers him from his appearances on there and commented how lovely he seemed
