    Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Silicium

So i'd been looking for an inexpensive dressier watch. Checked out the Seikos, Hamiltons etc then stumbled upon this.
Ok, so there's no disguising where the design cues come from, but I think Tissot have really knocked it out of the park on this
one. 40mm, polished bezel, satin sides, signed crown, signed deployment clasp, 100m WR and a swiss movement with 80
hours power reserve. All for under £600 !!
I think it's a fairly new model - none of the usual high street chains had one in stock (certainly in Scotland) but I found one
online at Owen and Robinson in Leeds. Quick phone call yesterday afternoon and its on my wrist this morning.
Pics coming in a jiffy !!

That is rather nice - 80 hour reserve + silicon hairspring from a £600 watch is impressive.

    A steal at that price.

Does somebody know, quality wise, where this movement stands? It's cheaper than a normal 2824 and has 80 hours PR and a sillicon hairspring! Or is it just Swatch group product placement?
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

I really like the design cues on that Looks to be a bargain at that price too.

I’d love to hear from the OP in a few days what the time keeping is like on this! Great value

Very nice indeed and so much cheaper than a certain similar other. I really like Tissot watches, indeed my gold case, silvery white dial Visodate is a real keeper. I must admit I prefer this watch to my Certina DS Caimano Auto but considering I got that watch at a real bargain price, I can cope with the green monster...

Hi, I'd set it to the atomic clock not long before my original post.
Just checked and it's lost 2 seconds.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious, what "certain similar other"? Omega Aqua Terra?

    Jim,

    Rolex Oyster Perpetual:

Got a bit of the Seiko SARB033 about it too but I prefer the size of the Tissot, the power reserve and overall look. One thing I do prefer as regards the Seiko is its gorgeous second hand.

Good article on Hodinkee regarding this lovely Tissot: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/ti...ic-introducing
